The new website of Income Tax e-filing will start from today, more facilities have been given in this new website than before. It was closed for 6 days before launching the new website. Till now taxpayers were doing many other things including filling their tax returns on the old portal of Income Tax (incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in). The old website has been closed since June 1.

New Website of Income Tax From Today

From today the new portal of Income Tax www.incometax.gov.in will be launched. Income Tax Department says that ‘We are very excited to go to the new e-filing website from 7th June. The new portal is more user friendly, in which all the new features have been added.

whats new in website of Income Tax e-filing?

In this new portal, there will be instant processing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and refund issue. Many such features will be found in the portal of Income Tax, so let’s take a look at what is new in the new website of Income Tax.

  1. All transactions and uploads or pending deeds will be visible on a single dashboard, so that taxpayers can get all their things on a single page.
  2. In order for the taxpayer to fill his ITR on his own, it will have an ITR preparation software which will contain some questions to help the taxpayers to fill their ITR 1, 4 (online or offline), ITR 2 (offline). This software will be absolutely free. Such facility will be given soon for ITRs 3, 5, 6, 7.
  3. Taxpayers will be able to proactively update their profile to provide certain details of their income including salary, house property, business/profession. Which can be used in the pre-filing of their ITR.
  4. There will also be a new call center to answer taxpayers’ queries, detailed FAQs, user manuals, videos and modern facilities like chatbot/live agent will also be provided.
  5. A new online tax payment system will be implemented on the new portal and many new payment options will be given in it. These will have payment options like Net-banking, UPI, Credit Card and RTGS/NEFT. Taxpayers will be able to pay their taxes from any bank. The new tax payment system will be launched after the date of advance tax installment on June 18, 2021 so that taxpayers do not face any inconvenience.
  6. All the necessary features found on the desktop will also be available on the mobile app. That is, taxpayers will now be able to do their tax related work through the mobile app as well.
  7. In this, you will get the facility to file income tax forms, engage a tax professional, file a response to the notice in faceless scrutiny or file an appeal.
