Improvement in name, date of birth difficult in PF account, understand new guidelines of EPFO

Posted on March 30, 2021 By Chandan Tiwari No Comments on Improvement in name, date of birth difficult in PF account, understand new guidelines of EPFO

EPFO New Guidelines: Retirement Fund body, Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has given this facility to its employees earlier that if there is any mistake in their PF account then it could be rectified online. For this, you did not even have to make rounds of the office. According to the EPFO, you could improve the information like your name, father’s name and date of birth.

EPFO guidelines increase difficulties

Now the EPFO has changed the entire process. After which making these changes will no longer be easy. EPFO has released new guidelines to make these changes. The purpose of EPFO behind bringing new guidelines is to protect PF accounts from fraud. According to EPFO, mistakes in name, father’s name, husband’s name, date of birth and gender could be rectified.

Now it is difficult to change the name, date of birth in PF

However, it has been observed that in some cases fake clearance was done by changing the full name and profile. Under normal circumstances the entire profile of the member cannot be allowed to change. Under the new changes, you will not be able to change your name in the profile of your PF account. Many times people mistakenly fill their name spelling incorrectly, due to which there is a problem in PF account.

Must go to PF office with necessary documents

You have to go to the EPFO office with the necessary documents. Apart from this, you will not be able to change your date of birth, father’s name / husband’s name, nominee’s name and also the name of your employer. For these changes also you have to go to the office of EPFO with some important documents.

These changes can still be made

In fact, after marriage, the surname of women changes, for this also women will have to change the name in their Aadhaar card first. Only after this, you will be able to change your surname
